Product Description

Gas Oven Control Board with UL approval BW-TK047

Basic Information

This is a gas ignition control module (ICM) designed for operating a three-burner gas double oven, where one oven has a single bake burner and the other oven has two burners (bake/broil). There is also a depopulated model to handle a single oven (bake/broil). The spark module output drive is solid state, for improved reliability because of the low load current. The design is convertible between natural gas and LP.

Operating Requirements

Ignition Control Module (ICM) shall respond to requests for burner activation from the control board.  ICM shall activate solenoids required to provide gas to burners, operate spark igniters to ignite gas, and confirm proper ignition via flame rectification flame sense rods.

The ICM is to monitor flame presence continually throughout operation.  If, during operation and after ignition has been confirmed, flame sense is lost, the ICM will spark in an attempt to relight the burner. If the re-light attempt fails, the valve solenoid is turned OFF, followed by a wait period of several seconds to allow any unburnt gas to dissipate, and then a reignition.

Only one gas valve solenoid shall be energized even if the ICM receives a call-for-heat request from both burner channels one and two. If a call for heat for both burners 1 and 2 is requested, the ICM shall will take no action until the one of the two call-for-heats inputs is de-activated. When the call-for-heat is deactivated for one burner, that burner valve shall turn off.  The other burner valve awaiting ignition shall immediately begin the ignition process without turning OFF the main safety valve. Should both burners be requested for more than 60s, the ICM shall shut down and generate an error.

ICM is required to be tested and certified to the applicable portions of UL 60730-1 for electronic controls and 60730-2-5 for burner ignition controls.
